EXPERIENCE & BIOGRAPHY

Commercial & Industrial Photographer Mark Davis started creating photographs at age eleven after spending a day with U.S. Army photographers at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama.  By age nineteen, he was a staff photojournalist with an award winning daily newspaper, The Decatur Daily. He left the newspaper in 1994.

In addition to shooting professionally, Mark is an adjunct photography instructor at Calhoun Community College in Decatur, Alabama. He has also taught photography at Oakwood College in Huntsville, Alabama.

A single father, there is nothing more rewarding, and enjoyed more, than being a dad.  Second to being a father, Mark has an absolute passion for photography.

Mark is a member of ASMP - American Society of Media Photographers and EP - Editorial Photographers. 

WHAT WE DO: 

Mark's photographs are used in advertising, annual reports, on web sites and any other place quality photographs are required.  Mark has 26 years experience.  An experienced photojournalist, Mark is able to work efficiently, and he captures those once in a life-time candid photographs.  His photography includes executive  portraiture, executive events, industrial, aerials, products, people at work, interior and exterior buildings and editorial assignment photography for books, magazines and newspapers; human interest feature photography of people at work or play, sports action, new business promotions, executive events, ground breaking ceremonies and other company oriented business or news worthy events.

PHOTOGRAPHY BACKGROUND: 

An experienced published photographer, Mark's images have appeared internationally in major publications like USA Today, Sports Illustrated, Reader's Digest Books, Weekly Reader, Los Angeles Times, Vancouver Sun and Simon and Schuster Publishing.  Mark is a former staff photojournalist with award winning daily newspaper. Several of Mark's sports photographs are on permanent exhibit in the College Football Sports Hall of Fame in South Bend, IN.   Photographer's Forum Magazine has recognized Mark's photography among the top 5% of more than 17,000 entries worldwide in their annual photography contests. Mark is the past recipient numerous awards from the Alabama Press Association (APA), and Alabama Associated Press Association (AP).  He has awards from other associations including the Alabama College System Chancellor's Art Exhibition.
